  Coffee Kids

Shakespeare Coffee Company works in support of Coffee Kids. This means, by choosing us you can donate one penny from every cup to charity.

Coffee Kids is a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping coffee-farming families improve the quality of their lives. Founded in 1988, they work closely with partners in coffee-growing communities to create community-based programmes that respect the values, cultural integrity and ingenuity of the communities.

Coffee Kids currently supports economic diversification, education, healthcare and community-based programmes in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Peru.

  Rainforest Alliance

Do you believe in sustainability? Founded in 1987, the Rainforest Alliance is an independent, non-profit organisation. They promote standards for sustainability that conserve wildlife and ensure the well-being of workers and their communities.

The Rainforest Alliance CertifiedTM programme assures consumers that the products they are buying come from farms that meet demanding standards for environmental, economic and social improvement.

Now, all of the beans sourced for Kenco’s freeze dried coffee range are from Rainforest Alliance CertifiedTM farms.

  Fairtrade

The Fairtrade Foundation is an independent non-profit organisation that licenses the use of the FAIRTRADE Mark on products in the UK in accordance with internationally agreed Fairtrade standards.  The Foundation was established in 1992 by CAFOD, Christian Aid, Oxfam, Traidcraft and the World Development Movement.

Their vision is to allow everyone, through their work, to maintain a decent and dignified livelihood and develop their full potential. To achieve this vision, Fairtrade seeks to transform trading structures and practices in favour of the poor and disadvantaged. By facilitating trading partnerships based on equity and transparency, Fairtrade contributes to sustainable development for marginalised producers, workers and their communities.

The Foundation’s mission is to work with businesses, community groups and individuals to improve the trading position of producer organisations in the South and to deliver sustainable livelihoods for farmers, workers and their communities.

  Macmillan

On 24 Sept 2010 Shakespeare Coffee Company supported Macmillan’s World’s Largest Coffee Morning by hosting an event for local businesses in our showroom.

This is the first year that Shakespeare Coffee Company has supported this event but as Managing Director Tim Lively commented, “We hope to make this an annual event. Shakespeare Coffee Company has always supported good causes and as a coffee company felt we couldn’t miss out on the chance to share our quality coffees with the local business community.”

Shakespeare Coffee Company also supported two local coffee mornings in Wixford and Stratford by supplying them with Kenco coffee.
